Re-Wind PhD student presents work at the 34th American Society for Composites Conference

Georgia Tech civil engineering PhD student, Ammar Alshannaq presented the paper “Structural Re-Use of De-Commissioned Wind Turbine Blades in Civil Engineering Applications” at the 34th ASC Technical Conference, which focused on structural analysis of wind turbine blades as power transmission lines. Stiffness values, stresses and strains were determined along the wind blade and used to assess the feasibility of the proposed reuse concept in accordance with applicable design standards.
