University College Cork (UCC) PhD student, Heloisa Lemmertz, was the Entrepreneurial Lead (EL) on a Re-Wind team that participated in the NYCRIN (New York City Regional Innovation Node) http://nycrin.org/sites/ ICORPS Bootcamp run by the City University of New York (CUNY) in the Summer 2020 Cohort. The Technical Lead (TL) was Dr. Lawrence Bank. Industry mentors included Howard Liberman, Ariellla Trotsenko, Arber Ruci and John Blaho. The team worked on two major parts of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) - the Customer Segments (CS) and the Value Propositions (VP). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Ms. Lemmertz was in Brazil at the time and conducted her interviews in Brazil. 15 interviews of individuals in middle management of Wind Power or Wind Blade OEMs were conducted. The interviews helped to identify the different customer segments and value propositions for each of them. At the conclusion of the Bootcamp all teams presented their work for evaluation by the NYCRIN ICORPS team. The Re-Wind team was awarded $1,000 in Seed Money to continue the business development efforts and was encouraged to apply for the National NSF ICORPS program https://www.nsf.gov/news/special_reports/i-corps/index.jsp .
