Paul Leahy presents lessons learned from Re-Wind at DTU Blades Conference

Paul Leahy of Re-Wind, University College Cork, gave a presentation on Lessons Learned from a Blade Repurposing at the International Conference on Sustainable Wind Turbine Blades: New Materials, Recycling and Future Perspectives

Dr. Leahy’s presentation focussed on the evidence base for end-of-life blade repurposing which has been created by the Re-Wind project, demonstrating environmental, economic, social value and technical maturity and scaling. He called on decommissioners and OEMs to support repurposing and other end-of-life technologies by committing to sharing blade data and decommissioning plans.

The three-day conference was held at the Niels Bohr Auditorium of DTU, Roskilde, Denmark and featured presentations on end-of-life solutions for GFRP blades from international speakers drawn from OEMs, academia and research labs.
