Wind turbine blade e-mobility hub at TRA2024
Visitors to the Transport Research Arena conference will see an unusual structure when they enter the RDS Arena in Dublin, Ireland. ESB and BladeBridge have collaborated to create a charging hub for e-bikes - from a repurposed wind turbine blade.
The e-mobility hub supports charging infrastructure for Moby e-bikes and supports ESB’s vision to achieve net zero by 2040. The e-mobility hub was built from a single N29 blade in Spanish Point, Co. Clare by Perch Design and BladeBridge and was reassembled at the ESB pavilion in the Royal Dublin Society in time to welcome 12,000 international delegates at TRA2024.
The ESB-BladeBridge collaboration emerged from the 2050Accelerator startup incubator at Dogpatch Labs.
